Syllabus

About Syllabus

There are two ways to add a a syllabus to your course. You can use the Syllabus tool to create a syllabus, or you can import an existing Syllabus file.

With the Syllabus tool, you can create a customized syllabus for your course. It contains sections for:

  • course information
  • instructor information
  • course goals
  • policies
  • textbooks
  • course requirements
  • lessons

You can also add custom sections.

The Syllabus file option allows you to import a file to be used in place of the predefined syllabus sections.

Before you and your students can use Syllabus, you must add it to your course. For instructions, see Add Page or Tool.

For users who are new to WebCT, we recommend that you use the Syllabus Wizard. The wizard guides you, step-by-step, through the following tasks:

  • editing a built-in syllabus
  • uploading a file

To access the wizard, click Use Syllabus Wizard. For more information about wizards, see Course Design Center. Note: Depending on administrator settings, this feature may not be available to you.
