Setting the default language

If more than one language is available in your course, you can select the default language for you and your students. Menus and buttons will appear in the selected language. However, course content or text created by other users (e.g. Mail messages, Discussion topics, icon labels, user names) will remain in the original language.

Note: Depending on administrator settings, this option may not be available.

  1. From the Control Panel, click Course Settings. The Course Settings screen appears.
  2. Under Default language, from the Designer view and Student view drop-down lists, select one of the available languages.
  3. Click Update. The default language is updated.

Note: You can allow your students to change the language of their WebCT screens by adding Language Selector to your course.
