There are no synchronous or on
site requirements for this online distance learning course. Students will complete
assignments, quizzes and tests, etc., on a weekly, semester schedule, but may
log into the course at any time.
The Instructor will respond to
e-mail and class discussion topics on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Open to
all students, the world of music: Non Western Traditions is an introductory
appreciation course exploring music outside the Western European tradition
including music of Polynesia, Native North America, Latin America, Africa and
Black America, Eastern Europe, Mideast, Indonesia, India, and Japan. Specific
topics chosen from these areas will be selected and studied throughout the
semester.
