Course Description:
Language and Literature 101 in the first semester, emphasis is placed on expository writing (essays), research, and research paper writing.

Models For Writers The Essential MLA Style
Course Objectives:
The objectives of this course are to teach students, through readings and writings, to create unified coherent essays. Online assignments will focus on developing critical reading skills that will contribute to each student's development as a writer.

Students are required to engage in the following interactions for successful completion of this course:

  • Class participation via bulletin board discussions.
  • Undertake the study of essay writing to include narrative, comparison, evaluation, and argumentative strategies.
  • Editing and rewriting activities.
  • Writing assignment totaling 3000 words to include a research paper.
  • Reading assignments by a number of essayist and responding to questions.
