PROCEDURES FOR ASSIGNMENTS
- Read assigned Unit
as listed in the Course Outline below. Your goal is to gain a general
understanding of the concepts in the Units, not to memorize steps or
keystrokes! Pay attention to the “Quick Tips” and the “Trouble” sections
in the margins of the text. Use
a highlighter pen while you read which helps later when studying for
tests. This reading material
will be the basis for the Theory Tests.
- Go back through the
Unit and complete the Tutorial (exercise in the Unit) to practice the
concepts and techniques that you just read about.
- When you have
completed the Tutorial, complete the Concepts Review in the book to
determine if you have mastered the material in the Unit. The Concepts
Review will help you to study for the Theory Exam.
- Hands-on
homework assignments to be passed in are listed below in the course
outline. (Homework is worth 15% of your final grade!!) Homework exercises
are located in the textbook at the end of each Unit in the Concepts Review
and Visual Workshop sections.
Each
assignment that you submit for homework should be saved with a filename made up
of your name, the Software name, Unit #, and the Exercise #. (Example: John
Student, Excel Unit 2, Visual Workshop.) Complete and submit the homework as
attachments to a Private Mail message in WebCT Submit only one Mail
message for each Unit with all the homework for the Unit, don’t send a separate
email for each exercise!! Reminder: Do not use my personal email address for
submitting homework!!
All homework
assignments must be submitted on time. Due dates will be clearly posted in the
WebCT calendar tool. Homework assignments will NOT be accepted late.
